Tours of Klitgaarden are a rare opportunity, as the place is usually reserved for researchers and artists. However, once a month from February to November, we welcome Skaw residents and guests who would like to see the beautiful Royal Villa from the inside. Klitgaarden is furnished authentically with furniture from the time of King Christian X, from when the house was a royal summer residence.
Tickets for the tour are sold through Toppen af Danmark and go on sale four months in advance. Klitgaarden is therefore not responsible for the sale and handling of tickets itself.
As Klitgaarden is an older building with narrow corridors, this places a limit on how many people we can take around. It is of course very important that our resident guests can work undisturbed, as they come here to find peace and quiet. The participants in the tours will therefore also experience the silence of the refuge.
A maximum of 10 people can participate in a tour and a ticket costs 275 DKK. The amount covers a one-hour tour of the house with the story of Klitgaarden's history from 1914 to the present day.
The tour takes place in all the common areas of the house, and if there are available rooms, it is also possible to see the environment in which the refuge's guests work. The tour ends with a small glass of wine, which is enjoyed in the house's Havstue. The entire visit to Klitgaarden takes approx. one and a half hours.
